Now then, where to start? Who is going to help us get this space where it needs to be some obvious changes clearly needed, and some obvious changes wanted.
First stop. The entrance to the flat cutting right through the middle of the pharmacy. So that obviously needs to go. Then there is the 80s consulting room that is begging to be removed, restoring the front space to its original layout with high ceilings. Have been told the ceiling had been lowered, so it would be good to restore that back to its original height. Have noticed in the consulting room what looks like an archway leading to the original staircase, and we are keen to find out if the original stairs are lurking behind. A few alterations have morphed into a few more, which have led to a few more, and before we know it, there is a complete reconfiguration plan.

Cue, a raft of professionals offering their expertise, helping build our exciting new vision to transform the space. A new entrance and versatile approach to the space upstairs and a dramatic intense colour scheme to reflect the building’s rich heritage. Contemporary Italian lighting, bronze alongside brass, wine dark paint and solid mahogany shelving in the front space to make it as inviting as possible. A deliberate avoidance of intimidating ‘white plinth’ space. A quick lick of paint and tidy up is now firmly off the cards.

The impetus is now investing confidently in the long term vision. Let’s put the love back into this unique building. Go big or go home and give the artists a space they deserve.
Big question is, can this fancy dream be done on a reasonable budget?
